Pocket giant: Van der Valk starts construction of custom 30-metre Project Berlin

Waalwijk, the Netherlands - Van der Valk Shipyard, builder of bespoke and boutique custom superyachts up to 45 metres in length, have started construction of a new, 30-metre custom aluminium yacht being built as Project Berlin. The raised pilothouse yacht, which features purposeful and dynamic lines, offers the space and comfort of a larger superyacht while staying under the 24-metre regulatory threshold, offering the best of both worlds for her experienced owners who are moving up from a serial production yacht.

Boutique Dutch shipyard Van der Valk has officially started construction of its most ambitious and largest custom build to date: the 46-metre Project WV0149. Van der Valk opens brand-new construction hall

Having firmly established itself as a niche leader in the market for fully custom motoryachts between 25 and 47 metres in length, Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has opened a brand-new construction facility. Offing a state-of-the-art environment for the yard’s expert craftsmen, Hall 7 joins six other facilities on premises spanning over 9000 square metres and offering access to the water via 120 metres of dock.

Stunning footage of EDGE 65 in Bahamas

Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has released the first images of the striking new EDGE 65 in her natural habitat of the Bahamas. While this sporty blend of luxury cruiser and offshore speed machine would be equally at home exploring shallow waters and breathtaking bays the world over, the launch model for the new bespoke line was custom-created with the Exumas in mind.  And, as these photographs and video footage show, living life on the EDGE as rarely looked so good.

Introducing Project EVO: Van der Valk’s largest all-custom superyacht

Van der Valk in the Netherlands has started construction on Project EVO, a completely custom 40-metre superyacht that will be the largest built by the yard to date in terms of length and volume. Its sleek exterior was originally penned by SFG Yacht Design and Fancy by Dada, with Cristiano Gatto Design adding new length and angles to the profile while also creating an exceptionally detailed interior. This all-aluminium bluewater cruiser will have a round bilged fast displacement hull and a target top speed of 24 knots.

Wim van der Valk retires: Management buyout of Dutch Shipyard

Having been at the helm of the shipyard that bears his name since its foundation in 1967, Wim van der Valk marked his 79th birthday on 18 April by officially confirming his retirement. A management buyout of Van der Valk’s shares in the yard has taken place, financially supported by a family of experienced yacht owners who have previously commissioned three custom superyachts from Van der Valk Shipyard. With a full order book stretching well into 2026, including the largest superyacht built to date, confidence in the future is high.

Premium Dutch motoryacht builder Van der Valk has enjoyed a very successful few months as its newly delivered Raised Pilothouse Jangada was one of the stars of the show at Cannes Yachting Festival, as was the launch model in the revolutionary BeachClub range, which won a coveted World Yachts Trophies award. The yard has also just received a new order for a 26-metre Raised Pilothouse and started construction on the first Modern version of its successful Flybridge range.

Van der Valk introduces design for modern yacht in acclaimed Flybridge series

Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has unveiled a striking new modern version of its successful Flybridge series of powerboats. Designed by Cor D. Rover, the new 24-metre model features the premium quality and craftsmanship typical of Van der Valk, while introducing floor-to-ceiling windows that allow sweeping vistas of the outside world. Van der Valk will present the new design at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival from 10 to 15 September.
