Van der Valk

PROJECT ZEN

48 metres of bespoke beauty

Due for completion in the Q2 2028, the 48-metre "Project ZEN" (Yard no. WV0149) is Van der Valk’s most ambitious custom build to date and the largest. This fascinating superyacht blends the expertise of designer Guido de Groot and the know-how of Van Oossanen Naval Architects with the personal preferences of a highly experienced owner. Created in aluminium on an entirely new design platform, the highly efficient hull shape supports smaller engines and an impressive range in excess of 4,400 nm at 10 knots. An excellent performance underway will be assured by a fast displacement hull form and aft-mounted Hull Vane.

PROFILE

Supercar spirit, superyacht soul

Despite her volume of 499 GT, Project ZEN has a sleek and streamlined profile inspired by sports cars. Deeply involved in every stage of the design, the owner even requested renderings that show how his yacht will look from the water during his morning swim. Retractable self-levelling stairs ensure easy access to and from the water from a large sea terrace with fold-down bulwarks. Electric sliding doors will lead to a spacious toy store, equipped with eFoil boards, Seabobs, wakeboards and more.

Art of entertaining

Project ZEN will be very much a family yacht, with a generous bow lounge, spa pool and a garage full of tenders and jetskis. An expansive split-level sundeck includes a dedicated area for socialising plus an open-air lounge with wet bar, grill, seating and alfresco dining. The main deck offers a full-beam owner’s suite and wellness area that can serve as a private retreat when combined with the master, or remain open for family and guest use by closing off that suite. Currently under development, the interior style will be homey and casual chic with practical finishes.
