We are delighted to announce that the LeVen 90 motoryacht, built by Van de Valk for YachtCreators in the US, has won a prestigious prize at the 2020 BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards. The 27-metre motoryacht, which we launched last autumn, was named ‘Best New Series’ by the distinguished judges at the Superyacht Design Festival in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.

The LeVen 90 was described as a “clever motoryacht that will most appeal to new owners”. The judges praised the yacht for its high level of innovation (the LeVen 90 was also a finalist in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ category), stating that “there is nothing quite like it for an easy-living, no-shoes-required lifestyle. With its multilevel living area unobstructed from sports deck to galley, the LeVen 90 recalls the days when boating was an uncomplicated family recreation. Designed for day-trip island-hopping in the Bahamas but with full luxurious overnight accommodations below deck, the yacht combines the best of both worlds, especially considering its balance of quality finishes and attractive price.”

The award jury were also impressed with the work of the yacht’s designers, our friends at Vripack, with the LeVen also reaching the final stage of the ‘Best Naval Architecture Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts’ award. “What’s under the water is equally innovative,” they wrote, “with Vripack’s beamy ‘slide’ hull reducing drag and draft, and the first application of Voith’s semi-tunnel linear jet drive in a yacht.”

Congratulations to all involved in this highly successful project!
